Why we exist
From our own struggles to losing multiple friends to suicide we, the DIS-ORDER team have felt the deepest consequences of the worsening mental health crisis.
Among youth, well-being is deteriorating, talking about it is still taboo, struggling with it is stigmatized, and though it's so common those who do struggle feel alone.
We set out to change this.
THE HUMAN NARRATIVE
We believe a human narrative around mental health is the antidote to the current mental health crisis. It's about reconnection, proactive acceptance, and taking responsibility for our well-being.
WE ARE WORTHWHILE, DESPITE OUR FLAWS
Imperfection is a part of life, yet our social media driven experience of the world often makes us feel that we are lacking by exposing us only to the curated parts of others lives.
This is not to say that we should not work on our flaws and strive for growth. We should. However, it is important to maintain a nuanced perspective when approaching our sense of self worth.
We must internalize the knowledge that fundamentally, we are deserving of compassion and being cared for. Only then can we truly grow, learn to enjoy the journey upwards, and live free of cruelty to ourselves.
LIFE IS WORTHWHILE, DESPITE ITS HARDSHIPS
We all experience our own trials and tribulations. We often carry this burden with us. This can be deeply draining and painful. In the moments that our suffering draws to the forefront, life can seem like a losing battle.
It is important to remember that while everyone suffers, it is up to us to decide how we react to it. We must remain kind in the face of difficulty and focus on developing our resilience in the face of adversity.
Life will never be easy, yet it can still be beautiful, deeply meaningful, and therefore worthwhile.
GROWTH IS POSSIBLE, THROUGH TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
Faced with our own flaws and difficulties of life, it is easy to become overwhelmed and nihilistic. Proactive acceptance of these harsher realities and taking accountability for the improvement and maintenance of our wellbeing and that of others helps us find meaning.
We can strive for growth and betterment for ourselves, our loved ones, and strangers alike.

The current narrative around mental health continues to negatively impact our well-being and take more lives.
It's time to make the world more human, this begins with you.
